It was a pleasure to helm this campaign for my honest-to-God favorite show, Stranger Things. Netflix was looking for a Halloween seasonal suite that would be sure to go viral, launching Scoops Ahoy! ice cream into Walmart stores. Digging into my super-fan knowledge of the show, we concepted bold and unique twists on social video trends. Of course, nothing on-brand for Stranger Things would be complete without a serious touch of cinema and attention to aesthetic detail. The results out-performed Netflix’s expectations winning up to 3.5+ million impressions per video on their official TikTok channel. The campaign earned two 2024 Webbys, and prompted Netflix to tap Lauren and the agency for a second suite of videos for Summer 2024 .  


Mint Flare

Perhaps the craziest pitch of the suite was the idea of scooping ice cream with a mini version of Steve’s bat. Netflix said “yes” and the risk paid off! The shot became the thumbnail and hook of our top-performing TikTok video.

Meanwhile on Instagram, followers went crazy commenting with GIFs of Steve and other iconic film and TV bat-wielders.

U.S.S. Butterscotch

This fun, classic flavor was the perfect opportunity to pair an iconic 80s look with an easter-egg homage to Season 4’s Surfer Boy Pizza.

The Void

Custom miniature versions of Stranger Thing’s infamous Black Void and Upside Down gave new visual life to super-satisfying social trends.


Pinterest Recipe Videos

The launch campaign was rounded out with custom creative-driven recipes for Pinterest, designed by myself, Sward Creative and Food Stylist Nick Torres.

An extensive second suite of Scoops Ahoy! videos started rolling out in July 2024, with seasonal summer-focused vibes, and a whole new set of easter eggs to hook viewers and drive engagement.
